As an Art Educator for 41 years I have experienced a wide variety of media, but my passion centers around painting. While I have delved into all forms of it, oils are my love....the richness of the texture and colors appeals to me.

Over the years, I have tried to stretch myself to attempt all the various historical styles and subjects, but always come back to the portrayal of water.  I have attempted to portray several different forms of water, but my love of the sea…it’s power, it’s colors, it’s sound, it’s silence, it’s creatures…continues to call me back.

Wanting to grow as an Art Educator, I decided to learn the medium of Photography.  I taught myself B&W film to share the magic of “drawing with light” with my students.  This led to digital photography which led to the wonder of Adobe Photoshop.  Manipulating digital images became my new additional passion as the possibilities are endless.

When I create an image, I hope to capture the essence of that place so the viewer feels as though they are there with me.

I continue to learn and explore….
